Remember being a pen pal as a kid? What was special about that?
I remember having a pen pal in elementary school I don't remember the exact grade but somewhere in a old, very old cardboard box is a few blue lines sheets of notebook paper with the handwriting of a left handed child trying to write with her right hand. There are backwards letters and misspellings but the feelings are still in tact. My pen pal was a sailor, my first question I asked was about pirates.
I think what made it so special was the anticipation of waiting for the next letter, I remember wanting to remember each thing that had happened since the last letter so that I could tell my pal and stumbling over the big words eagerly asking my teacher or mom what the words meant. It was special to read about other real places that I may one day get to go to.
My mind is going faster than my hands today so I wanted a free thinking session and stumbled across a couple cool daily blog prompt sites, today's prompt was courtesy of;
