Shampoo in the washing machine

Today has been quite busy and I have a lot on my mind, but as my good friend always reminds me most of what we worry about never happens. Whew, because I live in constant fear of zombies (thanks Walking Dead)

So a few things I stumbled into today, making apple chips in the oven. Yummy! But not for those without patience, because your looking at up to 4 hours baking time. Super easy to make however basically slice an apple any kind works but the firmer like Fiji and Braeburn the better I have some Rome apples that I recently purchased and they are a lot softer on the inside (no they are not old) and I think would take a lot longer to dry out into the desired Crispiness. Anyways slice you apple as thin as you can get it, a mandoline slicer really comes in hand, really...

Layout your slices on a sheet of parchment paper (foil works also but you will need some Pam, or oil to prevent sticking) that is on top of a baking sheet. Then season as you would like most people put cinnamon and sugar on top, since I was going for healthy snacks I skipped the sugar.

Pop those babies into the over heated at 225 degrees and leave them be for about an hour to and hour and a half, then flip your slices and continue baking another hour or so until desired texture.

Cool down and go to munch town.
I also melted some peanut butter in the microwave and drizzled on top of my slices, super good ( a little messy however)

Oh and also in the spirit of frugalness I declined a trip to the store to purchase laundry detergent and took a trip to Google instead. Since I didn't have all the ingredients for homemade detergent (borax, naphtha laundry soap or washing powder) I found some discussions about using substances like shampoo, dish soap, vinegar and even Lysol as a replacement. Given that I didn't want to smell all lemony fresh in public I opted for something a tad less citrus and tried some shampoo in the machine. I had some b Herbal Essences Passion flower and sunrise pearl (what does that even mean?) shampoo I poured one cap full in the machine and prayed that the machine would not leave a mess of suds on the floor.

Hooray to the heavens! It didn't, my clothes smell great and feel clean :)

Now as for me I stink, just finished a Tony Horton workout DVD and some power yoga so it's shower time for me. Oh and the intermittent fasting still great.
